You will notice improvement immediately following the treatment and final results will continue to develop over the next 1-2 weeks. The Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in Juvederm is hydrophilic, meaning it attracts water, so the product will usually plump up a little in the skin over the first 1-2 weeks after treatment.

Which areas respond best to Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC?

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC provides excellent improvement for lines around the nose and mouth, often referred to as marionette lines, smile lines, parentheses, or nasolabial folds. It is often also used to improve smoker’s lines/lip lines and to fill hollows or dark circles under the eyes. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC can even be used to add volume to aging hands and to hollow temples. It is truly a dermal filler with many uses.

Is there any downtime from Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC injections?

The only downtime sometimes associated with Juvederm (or any dermal filler) injections is swelling and bruising. With proper planning, this downtime can be minimized and often avoided all together. Discontinuing the use of blood thinners (Aspirin, Fish Oil, Advil, etc.) prior to getting an injection significantly reduces the chances of bruising. Although swelling is rare, using ice on the area is sometimes recommended to minimize swelling post treatment. Do Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC injections hurt?

Before injecting Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area. In addition, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC contains lidocaine to minimize any discomfort during treatment. Our injectors have many years of experience and are very well versed in making your Juvederm Ultra Plus XC treatment as comfortable as possible. If discomfort is experienced, it is usually in the form of temporary pinching, stinging, or a feeling of pressure in the area being treated and it quickly subsides once the treatment is complete.
